IT Assistant
Circa £20,000 (depending on experience)
Full time, permanent role

Our client are a wholesale and distribution company within the FMCG arena. Due to continued growth and expansion, they currently have a requirement for an IT Assistant to support the IT Manager in their Cardiff Head Office.

The role:

• Support for tills in the cash and carry warehouse. Tills are currently PC’s running Progress Gui software and need to be upgraded to newer machines. You will be responsible for this.
• Support for PC’s running across our network.
• Support for Office products running on these PC’s plus backup software and anti-virus endpoint software.
• Support for Progress GUI software for access to our back office.
• Assisting in the support of Back office software, Archiving and troubleshooting.
• Assisting in the configuration of network devices, such as printers, access points and other devices.
• Assisting in the ordering of Consumables for printers and general IT equipment.
• Supporting our WebSite which is using Wordpress software.
• Supporting the Mobile phone stock. Managing Bills and devices and connections.
• Supporting the internal switchboard with minor programming and device support.
• Supporting CCTV systems within the warehouse. Possibly assisting in the installation of new cameras.
• Assisting in the support of Broadband connections through routers using LAN and WIFI connections.
• Validating backup processes have occurred successfully.
• Assisting in the completion of IT projects which come to light as and when.
• Knowledge of virtual machines and Linux would be advantageous.
