Job Description

Systems Developer
Cardiff, with free parking available
Competitive salary circa £35,000 - £42,000 per annum
• 38.75 Hours per Week, 8am – 4.15pm, Monday - Friday
• Flexi Scheme
• 24 holidays plus 8 b/holidays (or the equivalent of 32days)
• Salary and Grade (depending on level of experience)

The successful candidate will develop, maintain and support solutions that collect, store, transport, analyse edge computing data along with integration to existing customer systems to support effective and efficient mobile working.

Key Activities/Elements
• Create software applications to provide a platform for managing data
• Research, design and write new software programs
• Create integration tools, procedures and interfaces for customer systems
• Integrate existing software products and get incompatible platforms to work together
• Analyse and document users requirements
• Create, update and document technical specifications
• Write operational documents with technical authors
• Maintain systems by monitoring and correcting software defects
• Investigating new technologies

Education level and/or relevant experience(s):

• Relevant University Degree or equivalent practical and vocational knowledge
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in the field
• Strong command of the English language
• Experience with Java/.net/VB and/or other programming languages is essential (3rd and 4th generation)
• Experience in application design, development and implementation
Experience in systems design and support

Knowledge and skills:

• In-depth knowledge or computer systems and technologies
• Software/application technical competency
• Knowledge of web services, web messaging and systems integration
• Experience of cloud-based computing (AWS/GCloud, Azure, Watson, etc)
• Experience of embedded operating systems
• Customer oriented thinking and acting, and a "customer-comes-first" attitude

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
