Security Officer
Newport, situated near Junction 28 of the M4
Permanent, Full time, Continental Shift Pattern
4 Days on (6am – 6pm), 4 Days off, 4 Nights on (6pm-6am)
£21,885 per annum, rising after successful probation period

Due to continued growth, we have an immediate requirement for 2 Security Officers to join their business. This is a unique opportunity for experienced Security professionals with a commitment to the highest possible standards, to join an exciting organisation.

The Security Officer is responsible for the day to day operational delivery of the security function. The role requires identification and reporting of incidents whilst maintaining the security and safety of all on site. The Security Officer will patrol the facility to record any irregularities, observe protection and fire control equipment, uphold order, and enforce regulations for the facility in regards to the premises, personnel and visitors.

This role will be privy to some confidential and sensitive information and as such, you will be expected to treat all information as sensitive discussing it only with those people who have the necessary authority.

A minimum level of SC clearance is required for this position. This will be applied for through the company and employment will be subject to this level of clearance being obtained.

Key Responsibilities
• Operational adherence and compliance with the site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Instigate the Incident Management procedures in a timely and appropriate manner
• Ensure the compliance of all personnel on site with the Security and access control policies and procedures.
• Adhere to the compliance of all Procedures and conform to the requirements of all ISOs and certifications held by the Company.
• Adhere to the compliance of the Fire Policy and the Fire Risk Assessment.
• Ensure that all the shift documentation is completed, legible and accurate.
• Facilitate the weekly fire alarm test every Friday at 09:30 and update the log book accordingly
• Undertake escorting duties as required.
• Deal with customer queries in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
• Adherence to contract SLA’s from a security perspective
• Undertake training, as directed by the Security Supervisor
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures
• Undertake any other task as directed by the Security Supervisor or Senior Manager on site.
• Must achieve and hold an SC security clearance.

Competency, Training & Awareness:
The role will suit someone proud to uphold the standards upon which this organisation is founded. The candidate must have relevant skills, knowledge and ability within the following areas:
• Operational Security
• CCTV Operation & Monitoring including Access Control
• Customer Service
• Basic IT skills (MS Suite)
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• SC security cleared
• SIA licence holder
• First Aid/ Fire Marshall/ Defib qualifications are desirable

The Security Officer is a pivotal role within the team. Expectations for this role are always high and therefore being able to manage your own workload with a can-do attitude is essential. This is primarily a customer-facing role and you are required at all times to present a professional and helpful attitude.
