Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Part-Time opportunities available (Mon-Weds and Weds-Friday) 27 hours per week

The Role
As a Medical Administrator / Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, handling enquiries and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming calls and patient enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Book, amend and confirm patient appointments.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update clinical systems.
- Support clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative tasks.
- Process correspondence, emails and general enquiries.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained in line with GDPR and practice procedures.
- Provide a welcoming and professional service to patients and visitors.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a customer-facing administration, reception, healthcare or contact centre role.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook and the ability to learn new systems.
- Professional, empathetic and able to communicate with people from all backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a GP Practice, Medical Centre, NHS or healthcare environment.
- Experience using EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
- Knowledge of healthcare administration and appointment systems.
Compliance
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check prior to employment.
