Civil Engineering Technician

Our well-established client is looking for a skilled, enthusiastic and self-motivated Civil Engineering Technician to join their team. This is a career opportunity in a successful and growing practice. ICE approved Training Schemes and mentoring is available for candidates keen to work towards professional accreditation.

The successful applicant will have the following competencies:

-Self-motivated and able to work well on their own or with Engineer supervision
-Clear and effective written and oral communication
-Can demonstrate at interview examples of detailing drainage layouts, highway and car parking layouts and earthworks.
-Familiar with SUDS drainage systems.
-Familiar with Cut and Fill, Earthworks specification and the commercial implications of setting levels for development.
-Can demonstrate at interview an understanding of CDM regulations and the duties of the designer.

Required education and experience:

-HNC, HND or similar degree level qualification in Civil Engineering
-Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience
-Ideally CSCS registered cardholder
-Excellent AutoCAD skills, including an ability to manage data, X-refs, layers etc.

The following skills will be an advantage but not essential:

-Ability to use Micro Drainage software at a basic level.
-Ability to use PDS or similar ground modelling and highway design software
-Ability to use Autodesk Revit and an understanding of BIM.
